AMMAN (Petra) — A total of 321,929 Jordanians and foreigners visited the historic city of Petra in the first half of this year, rising by 4 per cent compared with the 308,946 visitors during the same period in 2012.
Foreign tourists totalled 266,399, while the number of Jordanian visitors to the city was 42,200, besides 13,330 school students and official guests.
In the first six months of this year, the site’s revenues totalled more than JD5,763,242, at an increase by 8 per cent from the revenue figure recorded in the same period last year.
