DOHA (Petra) – Qatari Minister of Energy and Industry Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada discussed with Jordan's ambassador in Doha Zahi Mohammad Smadi the means to enhance cooperation in the field of energy between the two countries, mainly with regard to liquefied natural gas.
The two sides also reviewed the various phases of meetings of the Jordanian-Qatari Technical Committee on energy.
The ambassador invited a Qatari team to visit Jordan to conclude the discussions with Jordanian Energy Ministry officials about the possibility of Qatar providing liquefied natural gas to the Kingdom.
Smadi said Jordan has gone a long way in setting up a natural gas terminal in the Red Sea Port of Aqaba and renting a floating gas storage vessel.
The ambassador told Petra that the Qatari minister welcomed cooperation with Jordan in the field of energy and stressed the strong ties between the two countries in various other fields also.
