FM hosts Kerry's meeting with delegation of Arab peace initiative
AMMAN – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Nasser Judeh on Wednesday hosted a meeting of the US Secretary of State John Kerry with the Arab ministerial delegation deputed by the Arab League’s committee for the Arab peace initiative to contact the US administration.
Kerry briefed the delegation on the outcome of his tours, efforts to revive the peace talks between the Palestinians and the Israelis and the suggestions he put forward to for the resumption of these talks.
The delegation, which included Arab foreign ministers and permanent representatives at the Arab League of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Morocco, Palestine, Qatar, Kuwait, the United Arab Emirates and Secretary General of the Arab League, praised the efforts made by US President Barak Obama and Secretary Kerry, and their commitment to achieve peace.
The Arab delegation members affirmed their countries’ commitment to achieve a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East in cooperation with Washington and all the concerned parties. The delegation also affirmed its strong support for Kerry's efforts to resume the peace talks between the two sides.
The delegation also stressed the need to continue coordination and consultation with Kerry in this regard. (Petra)
