Queen Alia International Airport Launches Its Summer Campaign
AMMONNEWS – Airport International Group (AIG), the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA), announced the launch of its Summer Campaign on Sunday 23rd June, 2013. The announcement was made during a press conference organized by AIG in partnership with Royal Jordanian (RJ), and in the presence of AIG CEO Kjeld Binger, RJ CEO H.E. Amer Hadidi, AIG and RJ senior management members, and local media representatives.
Organized in conjunction with the airport’s busiest time of year, the Campaign will run at QAIA until 31st August, 2013, and comprises of several special arrangements for passengers to help make their trips more memorable. Preparations include dedicated family lines at the Passport Control and Security Check areas; the availability of ushers throughout the airport to help guide travelers; a kids’ area for children to spend time in as passengers wait for their flights; specialized menus for families and children at concessionaries’ cafés and restaurants; and extra staff to help with baggage handling.
“We have introduced these additional measures during the busy summer season to help guarantee more convenient, hassle-free pre-flight arrangements for our passengers, ensuring that they experience the best that Jordan has to offer,” said Binger. “Combining these measures with the new terminal’s easy layout, spacious duty free area, vastly improved food and beverage offerings, increased number of business and VIP lounges and state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure makes QAIA the perfect setting for an exceptional summer travel experience.”
“In terms of airport traffic, we have been experiencing consistent growth in both passenger volume and aircraft movement, and we expect them to continue to increase based on QAIA’s traffic history and the commendable efforts of the Ministry of Tourism in implementing Jordan’s Tourism Strategy,” added Binger.
In turn, Hadidi expressed how impressed he was with the advanced level of services offered to passengers at QAIA. He added that Royal Jordanian is collaborating with AIG on several fronts to accommodate for the increased number of passengers during the summer season.
Hadidi confirmed that the new terminal not only boasts new features in terms of unique design and comfort, but also in terms of the added value features it offers to passengers giving them a faster travel experience. These features include 64 check-in counters, an increased number of baggage belts, additional and more advanced baggage carts, improved on-the-ground handling services, Internet for all passengers, kids’ areas and improved dining and shopping outlets.
