Arabtec wins $197m Jordanian hotel towers contract
AMMONNEWS - Arabtec Construction has been awarded a $197m contract from Al Maabar International Investment to build a new hotel resort in Amman.
The company will build the new St Regis Amman and The Residences at the St Regis Amman project in Jordan. This will consist of three 17-storey towers linked by a podium with three basement parking level towers.
One tower will feature the 260-bed hotel, while the other two will contain The Residences - the first private branded residences available to buy in Jordan.
The podium level will contain 25 boutique stores, four restaurants, a cafe, pool, fitness centre, a spa, and conference and business facilities.
The two remaining towers will have 79 apartments containing two, three and four bedrooms. there will also be a number of 5-bed skiy villa units.
Residents will have access to services such as a pool, business centre, a dedicated lobby, playgrounds, a butler service, private theatre and executive lounges.
The contract was signed by HE Yousef Mohammed Al Nowais, managing director of Al Maabar International Investment, and Arabtec CEO Hasan Abdullah Ismaik.
Arabtec won the award from a shortlist of ten bidders who initially tendered last year. Work is set to start in July and take 33 months to complete.
