Crown Prince highlights Jordan's efforts in empowering youth
DEAD SEA (Petra)- His Highness Crown Prince Al-Hussein bin Abdullah II on Sunday met, on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) at the Dead Sea, with Ahmad Al-Hindawi, UN Secretary-General Envoy for Youth.
His Highness voiced pride in the appointment of Al-Hindawi to this important position by the UN, which makes him an example for Jordan's youths, pointing out the great interest shown by the Kingdom in its youths, who constitute a large percentage of the country's population.
He also pointed to the initiatives implemented to develop the skills of the nation’s youths, as well as meet their needs and empower and train them to become involved in the process of building, modernization and community service.
The Crown Prince pointed to the 'Haqeq' (achieve) initiative, which he launched in April among hundreds of school students from all over the Kingdom to boost voluntary work, enhance self-esteem, team work, develop skills and democratic thinking, and cement loyalty to the country.
His Highness praised the success of his initiative by presenting a number of distinguished graduation projects by Jordanian university students during the activities of WEF to promote their projects and connect them with the economic sector.
The Crown Prince pointed out that some of these projects were, by virtue of this initiative, turned into economic projects that will contribute to the creation of jobs for Jordanians in the near future.
