Jordan Red Crescent distributes food parcels to Syrian refugees
AMMAN (Petra)--Jordan Red Crescent has distributed food parcels and medicine to Syrian refugees in Amman with the support of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent.
Also, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Tadateru Konoe said the federation will make an appeal to all states, governments, societies and donor countries throughout the world to provide aid to Syrian refugees in the Kingdom.
Further, Konoe told Petra that the federation is seeking some 8 million Swiss Francs to cover its aid for Syrian refugees in Jordan for the next 6 months.
President of Jordan Red Crescent Mohammad Motlaq Al Hadid said the Red Crescent has begun distributing10,000 food parcels, noting that money donated by the Kingdom of Bahrain was also given to a number of needy Syrian families. 'Rent was also paid for 2,000 Syrian families residing in Amman for three months, with the support of the IFRC and the Swiss Red Cross,' he added.
