Cabinet agrees 20 million to finance Aqaba LNG terminal project
AMMAN (Petra) The Cabinet on Wednesday agreed on an Economic Development Committee recommendation that the government be a stakeholder in a new Aqaba port project and finance a liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal project.
The government decided in today's session to inject JD 20 million into the Aqaba Development Company to finance the LNG terminal project, which will start this year.
It also agreed to set aside funds for the new Aqaba port in the 2014-16 budget, in order to make the government a stakeholder in the company that will be set up to execute the project.
