AMMAN (Petra) Jordan and the European Union (EU) on Wednesday finalized a twinning agreement at the Jordan Institution for Standards and Metrology (JISM), which will qualify Jordan to sign an agreement on mutual recognition of certificates of conformity.
JISM director general Haidar Al Zaben said the institution's inspectors received training on the new legislation and standards. The inspectors, he added, were also briefed about agencies providing certificates of conformity to ensure smooth flow of goods between Jordan and Europe.
The $1.2 million project was implemented over a period of 20 months.
