Tawjihi exams to see stricter measures: Education Minister
AMMONNEWS - The Ministry of Education will take 'extra special measures' to ensure that the Tawjihi (Secondary School General Certificate Exam) process goes smoothly this semester.
Minister of Education Mohammad Al-Wahsh announced that the Tawjihi summer session exams will begin on June 12, and end on July 7th.
With 142,650 students taking the summer session examination, the Minister said in statement to Ammon News on Monday that his Ministry will take 'new and extra measures' that are '100 percent legal' to prevent any violations during the examination process.
He did not clarify the nature of the measures to be taken prior to the examination period.
The largest number of Tawjihi students are registered in the Information Technology (IT) track, totaling 52,235 students, followed by the scientific track with 32,450 students, and the literary track with 32,152 students, Director of the Examination Department at the Ministry Issa Ma'ayah told Ammon last week.
The Minister's statements comes as Tawjihi students filed numerous complaints last semester, and over the past few years, of violations committed during the examination, including leaking of exam questions, and various cheating methods.
