It’s been an eventful week here in London, full of activities on all fronts. But by far the most challenging has been the Palestinian/Israeli conflict.
We had a conference organized by the Palestine Return Centre on the subject of Britain’s legacy in Palestine. The Balfour Declaration, that bequeathed Palestine to the Jews by the British Government of the time, was of course discussed. The devastating and far-reaching effect of that despicable, cowardly act is still being felt, not only in Palestine, but all over the Middle East. It was a declaration that culminated in sowing the seeds of conflict in the Middle East for generations. The aim of this conference was to hold the British Government responsible for giving away a land that was not theirs to give to a group of people who had no right to it.
No matter where you stand on the Palestinian/Israeli conflict you must admit that Britain owes us, the Palestinians, a huge debt of honour, which is very much overdue.
One of the participants in the discussion, Mr. Alan Hart, author and former Chief Middle East correspondent for Independent Television News, said, and I quote:
“As some of you know, for telling the truth about the making and sustaining of the conflict in and over Palestine I have the honour of being ‘red-flagged’ by both Zionism and therefore the mainstream media, which is terrified of offending it and the authoritarian Arab regimes. They are at one with Zionism in wanting and needing the truth of history to be suppressed. They don’t want the world to know, for example, that despite much stupid rhetoric to the contrary they never had any intention of fighting Israel to liberate Palestine.
It was, in fact, the security services of Egypt, Jordan and Lebanon that made the first attempt to strangle at birth the authentic Palestine Liberation Movement led by Yasser Arafat, Abu Jihad and a handful of others.”
At the end of the conference a petition was organized to pressure the British Government to owning up to its responsibility and honouring its obligations to the Palestinians.
On Friday evening I attended the screening of the heart-breaking, devastating and utterly shaming documentary, “Displaced In Diaspora' on the plight of the Palestinian refugees in Iraq. As if to emphasise what Mr. Alan Hart has said of our Arab brothers, the documentary showed without a shadow of doubt that not one Arab country offered sanctuary to those tormented and abused refugees.
The unlucky few who were shipped away all over the world as far as Brazil are enduring even more hardships and neglect.
As if that was not enough to make ones’ stomach turn, it was reported that Israel has agreed to allow150, 000 Palestinian refugees from Syria into Israel with the proviso that they, the Palestinian refugees, renounce their right of return.
Driving to the screening I came across a discussion on LBC radio on Liberal Democrat MP, David Ward. (See link below). Taking part were Baroness Tonge and Conservative MP for Finchley and Golders Green, Mike Freer. Baroness Tonge was clear, succinct, diplomatic but firm in her condemnation of the treatment by the Israelis towards the Palestinians. Mike Freer, on the other hand, simply dismissed Mr. Ward and his actions as anti-Semitic.

Needless to say, this courageous MP has been attacked on all fronts and accused of anti-Semitism for simply daring to speak out. Despite him being pressured to apologise by the hierarchy of his political party, the Liberal Democrats, the Zionists are demanding that his career should come to an abrupt end.
In western politics these days honesty and integrity are very rare commodities, if they exist at all. Most western politicians are sullied, bought and paid-for by the various Zionist lobbies. The storm over Mr. Ward and his stance, is still raging.
The final ‘outrage’ of the week, according to the Zionist lobby and its mouthpiece, The Jewish Chronicle, was when a cartoon was published in the Sunday Times, by celebrated cartoonist and British National Institution, Gerald Scarfe. It appeared to depict Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu building a brick wall containing the blood and limbs of Palestinians. The caption read:
“Israeli elections. Will cementing the peace continue?”
The Board of Deputies of British Jews said that it had complained to the Press Commission, describing the cartoon as, “shockingly reminiscent of the blood libel imagery usually found in parts of the virulently anti-Semitic Arab press.”
Of course they will not stop until Mr. Scarfe grovels at their feet, as the owner of the Sunday Times, Mr. Rupert Murdoch has already done. Those who know of Mr. Murdoch’s history and reputation will be aware that he never apologises except under extreme duress and never explains.
As a parting thrust and to emphasise the power and reach of the Israeli lobbies all over the world I leave you with this.
