King Hussein Cancer Foundation, Hyundai kick off fund-raising campaign
AMMAN (Petra) The King Hussein Cancer Foundation KHCF recently signed a memorandum of understanding MoU with Unity Trading Establishment, Hyundai Motor Company, to launch a year-long fund-raising campaign.
The campaign aims to raise funds for the expansion of the King Hussein Cancer Center KHCC, a new state-of-the-art facility to complement the existing center and absorb the increasing number of cancer patients seeking treatment at KHCC from Jordan and the Arab world.
Signing the deal were KHCF Director General, HRH Princess Dina Mired and Hyundai’s General Manager Hassan Alayyan.
The campaign will be centered on asking customers at Hyundai’s service and maintenance center for an optional JD 1 donation upon receiving their bill. Hyundai will then match each dinar donated by their customers to KHCF.
Princess Dina expressed her deep appreciation for Hyundai’s support and stressed on the importance of private sector cooperation in the fight against cancer, adding: 'We thank Hyundai for supporting us in our life-saving mission. Their understanding and commitment to corporate social responsibility is a great example to other companies of how important their support is to local nonprofit organizations.' Alayyan said: 'The King Hussein Cancer Foundation plays an important role in the fight against cancer, and as a national institution and in line with Hyundai's commitment to corporate social responsibility, it is our duty to support KHCF in its mission to save lives and provide support to cancer patients.' At three times the size of the existing center, the expansion will be located across from it and will double KHCC’s capacity by 200 additional adult and child inpatient rooms.
Equipped with the latest medical technology used in cancer treatment, the larger space is also designed to absorb larger numbers of outpatients and guarantee maximum patient comfort. Most importantly, the expansion will reduce the number of patients on the waiting list so that they can receive top quality cancer treatment and a second chance at life.
