King visits Operations Room, Briefed on relief efforts amid weather conditions
AMMONNEWS - His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Forces, on Thursday visited the Operations Room at the Command and Control Center and stressed the need to coordinate efforts to serve citizens and offer relief aid and any needed rescue services during the current severe weather conditions.
During his meeting with a number of ministers and high-rank officers, the King urged the army and other security forces to support efforts by the government and local administrations in the governorates in carrying out their duties.
Upon directives by His Majesty King Abdullah II, the army established Kingdom-wide operation rooms and urged citizens to call whenever they are in need.
During the visit, the King was briefed on efforts of the ministries, official departments, army and security forces to aid citizens, re-open blocked roads and rescue citizens stranded in the snow.
His Majesty expressed pride over efforts exerted by various states bodies to provide citizens with relief aid. Snowfall and heavy rainfall over the past days blocked major highways and roads around the Kingdom, Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
During his meeting with officials, including chiefs of security forces and armed forces, the King stressed the need to continue in coordinating efforts to provide help for citizens whose homes have been flooded as a result of the heavy rainfall witnessed in the past few days in the kingdom.

Chief of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Meshal al-Zaben also briefed King Abdullah on the measures taken by the Jordanian Armed Forces in supporting local government apparatuses to deal with the blizzard conditions, including rescuing citizens from flooded homes and providing urgent humanitarian relief, food, and medical services to needy citizens, in addition to its role in re-opening blocked roads.
