AMMAN (Petra) Eleven candidates have dropped from parliamentary elections due to take place on January 23, bringing the total number of withdrawals to 54, according to Independent Elections Commission spokesman Hussein Bani Hani.
'The number of candidates who have withdrawn until the end of the working day Sunday stood at 11, including five from local constituencies in Madaba, Balqa, Karak and Maan, while six had pulled from the general lists,' he said.
He said among those pulling from the race were 38 in local districts and 16 from the general (national) lists, reminding that Monday is the deadline for withdrawal.
