Queen Rania chairs Al Aman Fund Board of Trustees meeting
AMMAN (Petra) Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah chaired today the annual meeting of the Board of Trustees of Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans.
The meeting included presentations by the fund Director, Maha Al Saqqa, about the fund’s strategies and goals, including increasing the number of vocational training beneficiaries from 12% to 20%, as well as improving cohesion with labor market requirements.
Al Saqqa also spoke about the fund’s achievements in the past years such as increasing the number of beneficiaries by 15% in the year 2012 and by 16% in the previous year.
In the years 2012 and 2011, the fund graduated 556 orphans from different post secondary institutions and during the same period more than 500 students benefited from the fund services which include tuition, health insurance and training opportunities. Al Aman Fund for the Future of Orphans was founded by Queen Rania in 2003 to provide orphaned youth with the necessary education and skills to become successful, self-reliant and productive members in the community when they turn 18 and leave their institutions, thus providing them with the necessary skills to enter the job market.
