Elections Commission Requires Financial Disclosure from Candidates
AMMONNEWS - The Independent Elections Commission (IEC) required from all candidates running for the upcoming parliamentary elections financial disclosure of the sources of finances used in their elections campaigns.
The financial disclosure requirement will be incumbent upon individual candidates and national list candidates running for the upcoming parliamentary elections to be held on January 23, 2013.
IEC spokesman Hussein Bani Hani called on citizens to come forth with evidences in case any political money allegations are brought up, noting that IEC will deal with all allegations in accordance with the Elections law.
Bani Hani stressed that Jordan is a country of rule of law and institutions, including the IEC, and will not accept any complaints of violations without submitting proof.
IEC announced that 24 international observers arrived the Kingdom to monitor the electoral process since, nd will be distributed across the country.
