Egypt PM in Jordan Thursday in first post-revolution Visit
AMMONNEWS - Egyptian Prime Minister Hisham Qandil will be visiting Jordan on Thursday, in the first visit of an Egyptian official since the January 2011 revolution.
Egyptian Ambassador to jordan Khaled Tharwat said the Prime Minister's visit comes in an effort to solidify and enhance bilateral relations between the two countries.
The ambassador noted that the visit represents an opportunity to stress the exclusivity and strategic importance of relations between the two countries, 'which is not a matter of content between Jordan and Egypt.'
Tharwat stressed that various bilateral relations will be discussed during the Prime Minister's visit, including the Egyptian gas supply to Jordan and the conditions of Egyptian workers in the kingdom.
The ambassador hoped that the two countries would set a date to hold a meeting for the Joint Higher Committee between the two countries in the first quarter of 2013, which has not been held since 2009.
