manama, (Petra)The 8th edition of Manama Dialogue kicked off on Friday under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.
The two-day sessions organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, in collaboration with the think tank International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS)with the participation of a large number of policy and decision makers of prime ministers ,foreign and defense ministers, national security advisers , intelligence military leaders, media figures .
The Dialogue, is a leading forum for governments and non-government experts to discuss regional security issues in the Middle East, the Syrian situation and its impact on regional security, counter-terrorism and security in the Strait of Hormuz ,the impact of sectarian politics on the region's security and stability in the Middle East in a global context and relations with the United States, chemical and biological weapons and the promotion of democracy and relationship with the state of Israel and the stalled peace process.
A Jordanian delegation headed by the Foreign minister Naser Judeh arrived in Bahrain Friday to take part in the sessions .
In statements to journalists on the sidelines of the forum, Judeh stressed that Jordan will not interfere in Syrian affairs affirming at the same time Jordan's commitment to its position toward the Syrian crisis.
He said that Jordan's relations with the Gulf States are strategic, adding that all the Gulf states have never hesitated to support Jordan. He pointed out that there is a framework to provide Gulf support to Jordan after approving this support one year ago.
