Home Gotcha Fire and the water tank in 7th Circle tunnel 08-08-2010 12:00 AM Ammon News - AMMONNEWS – Sarah Touqan – A Citroën vehicle caught fire shortly after 2:30 PM on Saturday inside the 7th Circle tunnel in Amman, causing a major traffic jam that delayed the arrival of Civil Defense Directorate (CDD) rescue teams. Fortunately, a water tank truck happened to be nearby on the 7th Circle atop the tunnel. The water truck driver quickly reacted by dropping a water hose into the tunnel with the help of pedestrians who helped extinguish the fire. The two front tires of the car exploded from the fire while attempting to distinguish it, causing pedestrians to move away from the vehicle as thick black smoke covered the tunnel. CDD rescue teams finally arrived shortly afterwards and were able to contain the fire and traffic police managed to reroute traffic to ease the jam that resulted in the area.
