Ammon News - The Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) reported significant achievements in 2024, reflecting its commitment to operational excellence and market demands. The company’s CEO, Hassan Al-Hayari, highlighted these developments, emphasizing adherence to the highest safety and quality standards in gas cylinder filling and related operations.
JPRC filled approximately 35 million household gas cylinders of 12.5 kg capacity in 2024, up from 34 million cylinders in 2023. Additionally, 2,989 gas cylinders of 50 kg capacity were filled during the year. These figures indicate a steady increase in production to meet growing consumer demand.
In maintenance and repair operations, the company repaired approximately 195,000 gas cylinders at its workshop, marking a 13% rise compared to the 170,000 cylinders repaired in 2023. Furthermore, 43,000 cylinders were decommissioned in 2024, a significant 64% increase from 30,000 cylinders in the previous year. The company also sold 109,000 cylinders of 12.5 kg capacity during the same period.
The total imported quantity of liquefied gas reached 387,000 tons in 2024, demonstrating the company’s capability to sustain the growing demand for liquefied gas in the local market.
Al-Hayari stated that safety remains a core priority for JPRC. "The company adheres to rigorous safety and quality protocols throughout all stages of its operations," he noted. Gas cylinder inspections undergo meticulous procedures, beginning with a visual check for defects, followed by hydraulic pressure testing to ensure durability under operational conditions. Final checks include valve and component assessments before the cylinders are filled.
