Hot air mass to affect Kingdom until Friday

Ammon News - Jordan is currently under the influence of a relatively hot air mass, resulting in soaring temperatures that blanket the entire region.

On Wednesday, weather forecasts indicate that most areas will experience relatively hot weather, while specific regions, including the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, will face particularly extreme heat.

In its daily update, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) raised an important concern regarding direct sun exposure during peak hours. The prevailing extreme heat poses considerable health risks, making it imperative to exercise caution and limit exposure to the sun's intense rays.

As Thursday approaches, the JMD forecasts a continuation of relatively hot conditions in most areas, with the aforementioned regions experiencing intense heat.

However, a slight respite is anticipated for Friday and Saturday, as temperatures are expected to decrease marginally, aligning closer to the seasonal averages typical for this time of the year. While the mountainous areas and plains may experience relatively normal summer weather, the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba regions will persist in facing hot weather conditions.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 35 and 33 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 21 or even 19 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 41C and lows of 28C.
