Ammon News - Lower House Speaker , Ahmed Safadi, dismissed reports aired by some media outlets alleging the House did not criminalize homosexuality-related acts on social platforms as "incorrect."

During a House session held Thursday, in the presence of Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Khasawneh and Cabinet members, Safadi noted: "By criminalizing pornography, breaching public morals, and sexual promotion in Articles 13 and 14 of Cybercrime Law, Parliament speaks generally about these crimes without giving details."

Earlier, the House approved Article (13) of the Cybercrime Law, which imposes a fine on individuals, who deliver or promote pornographic and sexual acts.

Meanwhile, Article 14 provides penalties for "offenders who use social platforms and information systems, or establishes a website to facilitate, promote or fuel, assist, or incite prostitution and immorality, by imprisonment for a period no less than 6 months and a fine of no less than JD9,000 and no more than JD15,000.
