Hot weather in most areas for weekend

Ammon News - Jordan is bracing for scorching temperatures as the country anticipates a rise in mercury levels above the seasonal norms.

In its daily update, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) forecasts a temperature surge of approximately 2-3 degrees Celsius on Thursday, making it relatively hot over in mountainous regions and plains, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will experience extremely hot weather.

The JMD issued a warning regarding the potential hazards of direct exposure to the intense sun during peak hours in most parts of the country. Additionally, it strongly advised against leaving children unattended inside closed vehicles to prevent heat-related risks.

Friday's weather will remain relatively hot in the mountainous regions and plains, while temperatures in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will soar to extreme levels. Winds will be moderate, occasionally veering in a northwesterly direction.

On Saturday, the Kingdom is expected to come under the influence of a hot air mass, leading to a further rise in temperatures. The majority of regions will experience hot weather, while the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba are expected to bear the brunt of extremely hot conditions.

Sunday will bring yet another slight increase in temperatures, maintaining the overall hot weather in most parts of the kingdom.

Today’s peak temperatures will be between 36 and 34 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 24 or even 22 degrees in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 43C and lows of 29C.
