Heatwave affects Jordan Wednesday

Ammon News - Temperatures are set to soar in the Kingdom on Wednesday as a blazing heatwave and dry air mass originating from the Arabian Peninsula will sweep across the country.
The mercury is predicted to exceed average levels for this time of the year by around 4-5 degrees Celsius, with most regions experiencing hot weather, while the Badia, the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba will see scorching conditions.
The Jordan Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding direct exposure to the sunlight during peak hours in most areas, as well as the danger of leaving kids inside closed vehicles.
On Thursday and over the weekend, the Kingdom will continue to reel under the effect of the blazing heat, with extremely hot conditions prevailing in most regions. The winds will be moderate northeasterly, occasionally picking up.
Today’s peak temperatures will be between 31 and 37 degrees Celsius in Amman and various highlands throughout the Kingdom, with lows of 22C or even 19C in the southern highlands at night. The Gulf city of Aqaba will have scorching weather, with highs of 43C and lows of 29C.
