Ammon News - The Ministry of Water and Irrigation on Saturday refuted reports that a private farm in the southern region consumes 204 million cubic metres of water from Disi wells a year.

A ministry statement said that the consumption of the private farm is 2.4 million cubic metres a year, noting that water is pumped from six agricultural wells, licensed before 2000.

Stressing that the wells are subject to monitoring, the ministry said that water bills are paid on a monthly basis according to the meters’ readings, which are installed on these wells. The Disi’s 55 wells that work around the clock pump 100 million cubic metres a year, the statement added.
