Ammon News - A total of 41,466 guests visited Petra city during November of this year, the highest number of monthly tourists since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in March, 2020, the Petra Development and Tourism Region Authority (PDTRA) said on Thursday.

According to PDTRA statistics, the tourists included 32,903 foreign visitors, 2,093 Arab visitors and 6,470 Jordanians, compared with 39,272 visitors of different nationalities in October.

PDTRA Chief Commissioner Suleiman Farajat said that the increase is due to the launching of low-cost airline flights and cruise ships, which positively indicates tourism recovery in Petra.

Farajat highlighted the enhanced business tourism in the city, as most hotels, restaurants and tourist shops have reopened, getting up and ready to provide their services after the coronavirus lockdowns.
