Ammon News - The Free Thought Forum (FTF), a Jordanian NGO, organised a two-day workshop titled “Economic Policy and Solutions to Unemployment” held between November 18 and 20 at the Dead Sea.

The workshop was held in cooperation with the People’s Party for Freedom and Democracy (VVD), a conservative-liberal political party in the Netherlands that has been leading the Dutch government since 2010, said a statement from the organisers.

The workshop comes at a time when national economies and businesses are counting the costs as a result of COVID-19, which has caused an economic shock three times worse than the 2008 financial crisis, read the statement.

The event, which witnessed the participation of MPs and activists, shed light on the economic challenges and unemployment facing Jordanians. Participants looked at how the Netherlands, a country where unemployment rates are only 5 per cent, manages economic challenges and fights unemployment.
