Participation in national olive festival 'free of charge'

Ammon News - The National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) Monday said they will not charge fees for participation in the 21st National Olive Festival that will see the participation of 500 enterprises.

Director-General of the NARC Nizar Haddad said the Centre made the decision not to charge fees to encourage participation, adding the number of applications with the NARC official platform "exceeded all expectations."

Haddad emphasised that to ensure justice and equality, the Centre left it to the discretion of Agriculture Ministry directorate heads to shortlist and filter the applications based on a of set criteria that give priority to olive and rural products.

He said the number of "production kitchens" will be limited to ensure social distancing, as shortlisting will be done according to a merit-based filtering system by the Agriculture ministry directorates.
