The Cabinet on Wednesday decided, based on Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh's directives, to reinstate nine teachers who had been placed under "provisional retirement".
The Prime Minister directed Minister of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, Wajih Owais, to continue reconsidering conditions of some teachers who had been referred to retirement or some of those whose retirement conditions were affected during the Covid pandemic, individually and according to an appropriate mechanism.
As such, a ministry committee was formed to study the teachers' issue and work for their return to service. Then, the ministry sent the Prime Ministry a letter regarding the 9 teachers' status to assume their duties, while a study of the status of 120 teachers, who turned on early retirement, will be conducted, giving priority to teachers whose pension payment has been affected.
In addition, the Cabinet decided to approve the draft law amending the Execution Law of 2021.
The amended draft law came to achieve a balance between the creditor and the debtor and to reach an execution law that guarantees justice for all parties and limits the imprisonment of the debtor in general and prevents the imprisonment of the debtor in some cases that may have negative social impacts and harm the debtor’s family members.
The draft law included cases in which the debtor may not be imprisoned, the key of which is a case when the amount sentenced is less than JD5000.
On the other hand, the Cabinet approved the Finance Companies Regulations of 2021, among other regulations of public institutions.
