Health ministry, AmCham-Jordan sign MoU to improve healthcare services

Ammon News - A memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed On Thursday between the ministry of health and the American chamber of commerce in Jordan on behalf of the research-based multinational pharmaceutical companies’ group (LAWG). The MoU aims to improve healthcare services and patient access to innovative treatments.

The MOU was signed by the minister of health, Firas Al-Hawari, Mohamad Al-Batyna on behalf of AmCham, and Mazen Abu Samha on behalf of LAWG.

Hawari stated that signing this MOU emphasizes the importance of partnership between public and private sectors in advancing scientific research and studies to improve medical services provided to patients.

Batyna highlighted the shared goal between health institutions and pharmaceutical companies to advance equal access to medications and improvement of medical services.

Abu Samha emphasized the importance of improving collaboration between stakeholders with a clear mission to improve the lives of Jordanian patients through investing in advancing the health infrastructure in Jordan and improve the regional and international status of the country.

The research-based multinational pharmaceutical companies’ group (LAWG) has 15 multinational pharma companies that collaborate under the AmCham umbrella to improve the healthcare outcomes through partnership with the public sector to ensure fair access to innovative treatments that help patients live better and more productive lives.

The memorandum outlines a blueprint for establishing a joint committee to build and upgrade the capabilities of healthcare providers in rare specialties in addition to training them on scientific research methods which guarantees achieving best medical results and increases the chance of patients receiving the most promising innovative therapies, especially for serious diseases.
