Environment minister, Egyptian delegation talk agricultural development cooperation

Ammon News - Environment Minister, Nabil Masarweh, discussed on Wednesday, with an Egyptian delegation, headed by Matrouh Governor, Major Gen. Khaled Shuaib, achievements made on the sound pasture improvement project, which is implemented in Jordan and Egypt.
Speaking at the meeting, attended by Regional Director of International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), Hani Al-Shaer, the minister stressed the importance of taking decisions to achieve national and international goals and strategies in the pasture sector, and the need for "a participatory" role between government institutions and international institutions and local communities in the two countries to manage the grazing areas to achieve "positive" impact of the livestock sector.
For his part, Shuaib stressed the importance of joint cooperation between the two brotherly countries to improve the pasture sector, which contributes to "achieving food security and improving the economic situation of livestock breeders," expressing appreciation for efforts made by Jordanian Ministry of Environment.
Al Shaer praised Jordanian, Egyptian partners' role to implement the pasture improvement project in cooperation between Ministries of Environment and Agriculture, Hashemite Fund for the Development of the Jordan Badia (?HFDJB), and Egypt's Desert Research Center (DRC) and Center for Environment and Development for the Arab Region and Europe (?CEDARE).
Al Shaer valued Ministry of Environment's "continuous" cooperation to make the project a success and achieve the "desired" goals.
