PSD chief, Chinese envoy discuss joint security cooperation

Ammon News - Director of Public Security Directorate, Major Gen. Hussein Hawatmeh, discussed on Wednesday, with the Chinese Ambassador to Jordan, Chen Chuandong, ways to strengthen cooperation between the two countries' public security apparatuses in the security and police fields.

Speaking during the meeting, Hawatmeh underlined the importance of the continuous cooperation between the two security agencies, especially in the field of training and expertise exchange, stressing the need to open new prospects for this collaboration to achieve the "best security and police performance and contribute to developing joint security work."

The Chinese envoy, for his part, lauded the PSD's "advanced" status at the regional and international levels, pointing to its "remarkable" development, which enabled Jordan's police force to meet all security needs and address challenges.

The diplomat stressed the Chinese government's keenness to enhance cooperation with PSD in various fields and open new horizons in this regard, in a way that serves common interests.
