Jordan records 65 new COVID deaths, 3,340 infections on Sunday

65 new deaths and 3,340 cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Jordan on Sunday.

With today’s fatalities and infections, the caseload and death toll from the disease have increased to 665,735 and 7,773 respectively, since the outbreak began in March last year, according to a joint Prime Ministry and Ministry of Health daily brief.

Amman saw 1,033 new infections followed by Irbid 500, Zarqa 412, Balqaa 287, Mafraq 204, Madaba 168, Tafila 164, Ajloun 162, Jerash 141, Aqaba 125, Karak 116, and 28 cases in Maan, according to a joint Prime Ministry and Ministry of Health daily brief.

The number of cases that required admission to hospitals today stood at 363, while 338 cases have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.

With regard to testing, 26,644 tests were conducted Sunday, 12.54 percent of which were positive. The total number of tests conducted since March last year has increased to 6,320,767.
