Jordan records 81 new COVID deaths, 3,794 infections on Friday

81 new deaths and 3,794 cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) were recorded in Jordan on Friday.
With today’s fatalities and infections, the caseload and death toll from the disease have increased to 659,250 and 7,646 respectively, since the outbreak began in March last year, according to a joint Prime Ministry and Ministry of Health daily brief.
Amman saw 1,510 new infections followed by Irbid 912, Balqaa 248, Zarqa 210, Mafraq 207, Jerash 179, Karak 149, Ajloun 131, Tafila 91, Aqaba 81, Maan 68, and 8 cases in Madaba.
The number of cases that required admission to hospitals today stood at 370, while 391 cases have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
With regard to testing, 30,617 tests were conducted Friday, 12.39 percent of which were positive. The total number of tests conducted since March last year has increased to 6,269,269.
