The Ministry of Health announced 22 Covid-19 fatalities and 4, 024 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Wednesday, bringing the death toll to 4,611 and the caseload to 376, 441.
The new infections comprised 2, 726 cases in the capital, Amman, 394 in Balqa, 283 in Irbid, including 29 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 158 in Zarqa, 108 in Karak, 79 in Jerash, 67 in Madaba, 53 in Aqaba, 48 In Ma'an, including 3 in the southern region of Petra, 42 in Mafraq, 38 in Ajloun, and 28 in Tafileh, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The number of patients who were admitted to hospitals today stood at 232, while 136 cases have recovered and discharged, the statement added.
According to the briefing, the total number of recoveries recorded Wednesday, whether at hospitals or at home, stood at 1, 807, bringing the total to 341,021 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of Covid-19 patients still receiving treatment at hospitals countrywide has reached 1, 178, including 91 on ventilators.
The statement also indicated that the number of confirmed and suspected cases on ICU beds has reached 218, or 25% of the total ICU bed capacity.
With regard to testing, 36,073 tests were conducted Wednesday, 11.16 percent of which were positive, the statement added.
Since last March, the total number of tests administered has increased to 4,476,281, the joint statement noted.
