One man dead and second critically injured in London stabbing

Ammon News - Officers given additional stop and search powers as second victim, believed to be a teenager, fights for life.

A man has died and a second has been left injured following a stabbing in north-west London.

The Metropolitan Police said officers were called to the scene on Willesden Lane, Kilburn at around 5.40pm on Saturday.

A man in his 20s was pronounced dead at the scene. The second, believed to be a teenager, is in a critical condition in hospital, the independent reported.

A spokesman said that no arrests had been made while and urgent investigation is underway to look into the circumstances behind the incident.

Additional stop and search powers have been handed to officers across Brent and the north of Westminster until Sunday morning.

The victim's next of kin have been informed, officers confirmed.

It comes just hours after a separate and unrelated string of stabbings in the south of the city left one young man dead and another nine injured in four separate incidents, according to the independent.

Witnesses described passers by desperately trying to stem the bleeding of a man in his 20s in Selhurst, Croydon with a towel before he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said they are treating the stabbings, which all occurred between 6.56pm and 9.12pm on Friday, as isolated incidents, the independent reported.
