The Ministry of Health announced 8 Covid-19 fatalities and 957 new cases were recorded in the Kingdom on Sunday, bringing the death toll to 4,145 and the caseload to 314,514.
The new infections comprised 456 cases in the capital Amman, 134 in Irbid, including 2 in the northern border district of Ramtha, 112 in Balqa, 61 in Jerash, 58 in Mafraq, 32 in Zarqa, 27 in Madaba, 19 in Tafilah, 17 in Karak, 16 in Ajloun, 14 in Aqaba, and 11 in Ma'an, including 4 in southern Petra region, according to the media statement issued by the Prime Ministry and the Ministry of Health.
The number of patients who were admitted to hospitals today stood at 60, while 65 cases have recovered and discharged, the statement added.
According to the brief, the cumulative number of recoveries recorded Sunday, whether at hospitals or home, stood at 1,623, bringing the total to 298,868 since the outbreak began.
Moreover, the number of patients still receiving treatment at hospitals has reached 454, including 79 on ventilators.
The statement also indicated that the number of confirmed and suspected cases on ICU beds has reached 162, or 16% of the total ICU bed capacity.
With regard to testing, 19,623 tests were conducted Sunday, 4.88 percent of which were positive, the statement noted.
The total number of tests administered since March has increased to 3,572,034, the joint statement noted.
