Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - Minister of Transport Khaled Seif on Tuesday announced an to the list of countries from and to which regulars flights are allowed to operate and the time period of the pre-travel PCR test.

The new list came into effect today and will remain valid for two weeks, the minister said in press remarks.

According to the new classification, the red-listed countries now include Bahrain, Belgium, the Czech Republic, France, Iraq, Kuwait, Palestine, Lebanon, Libya, Oman, Qatar, Romania, Israel, Russia, Spain, Ukraine, the United States.

Travelers from these countries are required to provide a PCR test conducted 5 days prior to the arrival at the Kingdom’s airports.

In addition to wearing an electronic bracelet during the isolation period, travelers red-listed countries are also required to spend a 7-day institutional quarantine period after their arrival, and will have PCR tests on the first and seventh day, and will pay for the costs of both tests.

The yellow category included the following countries: Malta, Morocco, Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, Egypt, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen.
The same rules and requirements applied to travelers from red-listed countries will apply to arrivals from countries in the yellow category with exception that they are not required to put on an electronic bracelet.

The updated green list included Algeria, Austria, Canada, Cyprus, Denmark, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Italy, Lithuania, Malaysia, Poland, Thailand, Tunisia, and Turkey.
Arrivals from these countries are required to prove they have spent the last 14 days in them prior to their travel to Jordan.

They are also required to provide a negative PCR test conducted 5 days before their departure to the Kingdom. Additionally, upon arrival at the Kingdom’s airports, the travelers will have to undergo a PCR test at their own expense and wait for the result at the airport.

If the test result is negative and it is proven the passenger has not come into contact with a confirmed infection during the flight, they will be allowed entry to the Kingdom.

If the test results of arrivals from green-listed countries come back positive, they will be dealt with according to the set health protocol and will be rushed to hospital where they will be required to pay for their treatment costs.

According to the minister of transport, travelers coming to the Kingdom must visit the www.visitjordan.gov.jo platform and fill out a travel form available on the portal.

Seif added that all travelers must obtain a QR code after completing the form on the platform, as no passenger will be allowed to board the plane in the event that he/she does not have that code and will have to face legal consequences.

Noteworthy, regular commercial flights to and from Jordan resumed on September 8th following a months-long lull prompted by the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in early March.

Since September 8th, the Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has received 3,203 and 4,284 inbound and outbound travelers respectively.
