Search operations for missing girl continue, authorities say

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - The Civil Defence Department (CDD) Saturday announced search and rescue teams as well as Royal vessels are still roaming the lake of the Zara Maeen-Dead Sea area in search for the missing girl.

Authorities have expanded search area for 15 Km, using search and rescue dogs, helicopters and boats in order to accomplish their mission, the CDD added.

Death toll from the flash floods that swept students on a school trip and other families in the hot springs area near the Dead Sea stood at 21 by Friday afternoon.

Authorities Thursday launched a large-scale rescue and search operation, where scores of people from different state agencies as well as several rescue helicopters and boats, marine divers and swimmers, started roaming at the site to rescue survivors, trapped people and search for missing ones.
