Sunshine prevails as temperatures set to soar

Ammon News - AMMONNEWS - A slight rise in temperatures is expected on Thursday, reaching 6-7 degrees above their annual average and creating relatively hot to hot conditions across many parts of the country, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) daily brief said.
Clouds at various altitudes are also forecast with southeasterly moderate to brisk winds.
Daytime temperatures forecast for today in Amman, the northern and the southern cities will reach 31 degrees Celsius dropping down to 18, 16 and 15 respectively. The weather will be hotter in the port city of Aqaba with highs reaching 42 degrees and lows standing at 30, the JMD further said.
A further rise in mercury levels is also forecast on Friday, but similar weather conditions will continue to prevail with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds. Clouds at medium and high altitudes will appear with a chance for light showers in various areas, the JMD added.
On Saturday, temperatures will few degrees, but it will remain relatively hot in the hilly areas and the Badia region and hot in other regions with cloudy skies and light showers in the southern areas, the JMD noted.
