7 injured in Riots in Syrian Refugees camp, Police use Tear Gas

AMMONNEWS - Seven people were injured on Saturday during riots erupted in Za'atari Camp for Syrian Refugees in the border city of Mafraq Northeast Amman, Security source told Ammon News.

Number of Syrian refugees staged a sit-in in the camp in protest of lack of Services and demanded to go back to Syria.

Anti- riots police prevented angry protestors from leaving the camp, then the riots erupted between the two sides, the source added.

protestors destroyed cars and threw rocks at the police who used tear gas to Disperse the demonstrators and contained the situation.

Earlier, international relief agencies reported an alarming increase in Syrian refugees to Jordan, Lebanon, and Turkey, shattering calculations made by the United Nations and spreading fears that the violence in Syria is creating a broader humanitarian crisis that could further destabilize the Middle East.
