Interior ministry: Road fatalities fall 2.12%, serious injuries drop 11.3%
Road traffic fatalities in Jordan decreased by 2.12%, while serious injuries fell by 11.3% during the first nine months of 2026. Meanwhile, all 159 identified high-risk traffic locations were addressed.
The Ministry of Interior said the figures came as part of the implementation of the 2025–2026 Traffic Safety Executive Plan, through a range of legislation and projects aimed at addressing critical locations.
Regarding public complaints, the ministry handled 760 requests through the 'Bekhedmetkom' platform, with a response rate of 97%.
The requests included 'Ask the Government' (45.2%), complaints (44.7%), suggestions (4.3%), compliments (3.2%), and reports (2.6%).
The ministry’s Office of the Inspector General also received 2,011 complaints and suggestions, while administrative governors handled 10,668 public safety-related complaints and 16,815 general complaints.
Meanwhile, inspection committees conducted 216 inspection visits to high-risk facilities across the central, southern and northern regions and Aqaba, to verify public safety measures and ensure the continuity of operations in a safe and proper manner.
