Israeli army conducts systematic demolitions in south Lebanon
The Israeli army carried out a series of controlled demolitions targeting homes and infrastructure in several towns across southern Lebanon on Thursday, with the heaviest demolitions reported in Mansouri in the Tyre district.
The demolitions caused strong tremors that were felt in Tyre city and surrounding villages, as the town came under simultaneous artillery shelling.
A Lebanese security source told a correspondent for the Jordan News Agency (Petra) in Beirut that the Israeli army also carried out a large explosion in Meiss El Jabal, destroying a waste-sorting plant along with a number of homes and industrial and agricultural facilities.
The source said the army is using new methods to blow up homes and residential neighborhoods without entering them, dropping barrels loaded with high-explosive material from Israeli drones onto rooftops before detonating them.
The source added that Israeli warplanes also struck an area between the towns of Zibqin and Shihin, southeast of Tyre.
