Muslim World League condemns new Israeli settlement tender under E1 plan
The Muslim World League condemned the Israeli authorities' announcement of a tender for the construction of 1,234 new settlement units within the so-called E1 plan in occupied Jerusalem.
Secretary-General and Chairman of the Muslim Scholars Association, Mohammed Al-Issa, denounced this plan, considering it a threat to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
He also condemned all illegal Israeli colonial policies in the occupied Palestinian territory, and Israel's support for and protection of the violations and acts of violence perpetrated by colonists against the Palestinian people and their property. This is part of an ongoing Israeli approach of violating relevant international laws and resolutions and undermining all peace efforts.
He stressed the urgent need for the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by immediately halting all acts of violence, violations, colonial policies, and other measures aimed at altering the geographic and demographic character of the occupied Palestinian territory.
He commended the statement issued by the foreign ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Indonesia, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Republic of Turkey, the State of Qatar, and the Arab Republic of Egypt in this regard, expressing their unwavering solidarity with the Palestinian people and their steadfast support for their legitimate rights, foremost among them their right to establish an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, in accordance with the two-state solution and relevant international resolutions, as the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region.
