FIFA transfers delayed Arab Cup payments to Jordan Football Association
The International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) has transferred the financial dues owed to the Jordan Football Association (JFA) for the national team's participation in the Arab Cup, following an approximately eight-month delay in payment, according to an informed source.
The source told Thursday that the transfer was made immediately after a post published by HRH Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association, in which he criticized the delay in disbursing Jordan's financial entitlements. The source noted that the association had been awaiting these funds since the national team reached the tournament final.
Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association and the West Asian Football Federation (WAFF), had posted on the platform X that the JFA was still waiting, since last December, for the financial rewards due to the national team after reaching the Arab Cup final in Qatar, a tournament organized by FIFA. He said the payments had not yet been made, despite FIFA boasting of holding billions of dollars in reserves.
He added: 'It is clear that the real problem lies in leadership. For months, FIFA has refused to help us with any of these issues or others, until I was told verbally during the World Cup that my support for Infantino would go a long way toward helping our federation resolve its problems.'
