Aoun: Jordan and Gulf security is part of Arab national security
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun on Tuesday condemned the repeated attacks targeting Jordan and the Gulf Arab states, stressing that the security and stability of Jordan and the Gulf countries are an integral part of Arab national security.
In a statement, Aoun said the attacks on these countries are 'clear and multi-sourced attempts' aimed not only at undermining their security, but also at systematically destabilizing the Gulf region and keeping the entire region in a constant state of tension and uncertainty, serving agendas that do not seek the well-being of Arab peoples.
He reaffirmed Lebanon’s broad and full solidarity with Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and the Gulf Arab states, emphasizing that their security and stability are inseparable from Arab national security, and that any violation of their sovereignty is a violation of both Lebanese and Arab interests.
The Lebanese president’s condemnation comes amid an unprecedented military escalation in the region following renewed missile and air strikes between Iran and the United States. Iran has reportedly targeted countries in the region, while the Houthis have launched ballistic missiles toward southern Saudi Arabia.
