Ammon News : Meta-owned popular messaging platform WhatsApp is rolling out a new privacy-focused feature that will let users share status updates with a selected group of contacts, similar to the Close Friends option on Instagram.

According to a report, the feature is currently available to some beta users on both Android and iPhone. It will allow users to create custom lists, including a dedicated Close Friends list, to control exactly who can see specific status updates.

'Finally, WhatsApp is rolling out the ability to share status updates with close friends and other custom audiences on iOS and Android. With the latest iOS and Android updates, some beta testers can configure new lists for status updates,' WABetaInfo, a website that tracks WhatsApp reported.
