Illegal activity by banned Brotherhood group in Aqaba thwarted
The Ministry of Interior said Sunday that security authorities foiled an 'illegal organizational activity' carried out in the southern city of Aqaba by the banned Muslim Brotherhood group, adding that participants were detained.
The Ministry said the activity involved a meeting organized at the direction of individuals holding senior positions within the banned group, noting that competent authorities are continuing efforts to identify and apprehend those individuals in accordance with the law.
It stressed that the group is outlawed and that organizing or participating in any activities under its framework constitutes a violation of applicable legislation, underscoring that all those involved will face legal accountability.
The Ministry added that political engagement is permitted exclusively through legally established and licensed political parties, reiterating that any actions that contravene the law will be dealt with firmly.
