Water Ministry warns of flood risk at King Talal Dam
The Ministry of Water and Irrigation / Jordan Valley Authority warned that King Talal Dam is at risk of overflowing within the next few hours as it nears full capacity.
The authority stated that the dam has reached 100% of its storage capacity, holding approximately 75 million cubic meters of water, raising the likelihood of overflow toward the Jordan Valley areas and the King Abdullah Canal.
The Jordan Valley Authority urged citizens and farmers to take necessary precautions and exercise extreme caution. It also called on municipalities and relevant authorities to remain alert and avoid approaching valley streams.
The ministry further emphasized the importance of following its official platforms for continuous updates on dam conditions and potential flooding risks, especially amid ongoing unstable weather conditions.
