US Ambassador to Israel urges citizens to avoid departing via Jordan
US Ambassador to Israel Mike Huckabee has urged American citizens currently in Israel to avoid departing via Jordan at this time, due to irregular flight schedules and limited operating hours at the Allenby Bridge/King Hussein Bridge crossing.
The ambassador said, in a statement addressed to Americans in Israel, that departure options are extremely limited, noting that the most viable option at present is to use buses organized by the Israeli Ministry of Tourism to Taba, Egypt, and then travel by air from there or proceed to Cairo for onward flights to the United States.
Huckabee added that those wishing to cross into Jordan may take buses to Eilat and then complete the journey independently by taxi to the Wadi Araba crossing.
He stressed that this route requires individual arrangements and may involve logistical challenges.
